Graham Stewart Posted 4 November , 2005 Share Posted 4 November , 2005 Paul, 141st(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. was raised in Portsmouth on 22/5/1916, and 161st(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. was raised on the Mersey Defences on the 23/5/1916. On the 29/7/1917 Sections of 386th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. were distributed among 32nd(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. & 141st(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. on it's break-up. On the 5/9/1917 Sections of 428th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. were distributed among 121st(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. & 161st(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. on it's break-up. Now I haven't got any information on their service overseas apart from in November 1918 141st(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. was serving as Army Troops in 28th(Mixed)Bde,R.G.A., 5th Army. The Bde consisted of the following units;- 117th(Heavy)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 60pdr guns. 1/1st(West Riding)Heavy Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 60pdr guns. 141st(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 6inch Howitzers. 329th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 6inch Howitzers. 213th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 8inch Howitzers. 148th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. - 4x 9.2inch Howitzers. At the same time 161st(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. was serving as Army Troops with 51st(Mixed)Bde,R.G.A., 4th Army. The Bde cosisted of the following units;- 137th(Heavy)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 60pdr guns. 138th(Heavy)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 60pdr guns. 255th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 6inch Howitzers. 283rd9Siege)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 6inch Howitzers. 169th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 8inch Howitzers. 161st(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 9.2inch Howitzers. On 14/9/1917 Sections of 430th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. were distributed among 280th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. & 255th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. on it being broken up. In November 1918 280th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. were serving as Army Troops with 16th(Mobile)Bde,R.G.A., 1st Army. The Bde consisted of the following units;- 23rd(Heavy)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 60pdr guns. 146th(Heavy)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 60pdr guns. 204th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 6inch Howitzers. 280th(Siege)Bty,R.G.A. - 6x 6inch Howitzers.
