The programme about HMS Timbertown is on next week.

DOCUMENTARY: HMS Timbertown
On: BBC Alba
Date: Thursday 9th October 2014 (starting in 7 days)
Time: 21:00 to 22:00 (1 hour long)

Documentary telling the untold story of HMS Timbertown, where sailors from Lewis became prisoners of neutrality. After the fall of Antwerp in October 1914, 1,500 men from Winston Churchill's newly formed Royal Naval Divison crossed the border into the neutral Netherlands to evade capture from the German Army. 102 of these men came from the Isle of Lewis. The men would be interned in a camp in the Netherlands for the duration of the war. For the first time, Angela MacLean retraces the journey they took through the fort at Antwerp, to the border crossing with the Netherlands and finally to the town of Groningen where wooden huts were built to house the men in a camp which became known as HMS Timbertown. Angela uncovers what life was like in the camp from the highs of the football matches, to the lows of failed escape attempts and the reality of death.

There are programmes on BBC Alba relating to WWI (and one on Monte Cassino) every evening this week at either 21:00h. Started on Sunday with the one on the hospitals. I think this was a co-production with STV and their programme is on tonight (presumably in English!). Worth a check through BBC Alba on iPlayer because they have been doing many programmes on WWI over the last month.

HISTORY DOCUMENTARY: Women Who Went to War - A Great Adventure
On: STV (03)
Date: Tuesday 11th November 2014 (starting in 1 hour and 51 minutes)
Time: 20:00 to 21:00 (1 hour long)

One hundred years ago, as the First World War took hold, a group of ordinary Scottish women were preparing for an extraordinary journey. These were the ladies of the Scottish Women's Hospitals. A Great Adventure tells the story of these remarkable women.
