I am trying to trace the Army career of a relative of mine and have looked up what I think is his MIC. However he seems to have 4 different service numbers as follows:

Royal Engineers 266944

Hants R (possibly the Royal Hampshire Regiment or the Hampshire Regiment) 1080

RDC (possibly the Royal Defence Corps) 20682

Royal Engineers WR/150178

Can anyone help me out ?

No service records as far as I can see but his SWB record has him enlisting on 29.03.15 and being discharged for sickness on 27.01.19 - at the age of 50, having served overseas. His unit was the Railway Troops Depot.

Enlisted 29 March 1915 discharged 27 Jan 1919 aged 50 from Silver War Badge listing.

Royal Engineers railway transport.

Served overseas 6 Dec 1917 to 13 Mar 1918.

His service records are on Ancestry which I believe are free to access this weekend.

Mike

Thanks for the info. I know he was old as he was born in 1868. So only his Silver War Badge record exists. So it is not worth going to Kew to look up his service record.
