Zeb Posted 24 August , 2014 Share Posted 24 August , 2014 Does anyone have Blyth or Northumberland Newspapers from around 1916. I'm doing some research on a 24/435 Pte Matthew WAKE (KIA 1 July 1916 First Day on the Somme). 24 (Tyneside Irish) Northumberland Fus. Buried Ovillers Military Cem. IV B 6 . I know he is on the Blyth War Memorial and New Delaval Working Men's Club and POSSIBLY on Washington War Memorial. If anyone ho has access to local newspaper records or any other records, can you please let me know if there is anything on Matthew Wake. Thank You Zeb I have also asked about the unit http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=216834#entry2144491

tullybrone Posted 24 August , 2014 Share Posted 24 August , 2014 Hi, I've posted on your other thread about John Sheen. Looking through the nominal roll in the 1st edition he is listed as C Company. Home Address 10 Double Row, Isabella Pit. Born Blyth. Hopefully John or Graham Stewart will provide more information. Regards Steve Y
