ICRC: POW Repat and Death Notification Lists

For those looking for repats who don't get an 'R' number on the card. Here is a list of the repatriation records I have managed to compile and these also include those repatriated before the Armistice. Precede each number with the letter 'R' from the drop down menu (as opposed to the PA or P options) and insert the number from a series below. There seems to be not much in the way of identifiable organisation in these lists so be warned a manual search for an individual could take some considerable time:

1389 – 19090 mixed nationality death notices
10050 – 49936 mixed nationality death notices
10106 – 50572 mixed nationality death notices
13783 – 13920 and 50259 – 50352 and 50252+ (also contains death notices)
14246 – 14426 and 50353 - 50508
50509 - 50840
50570 - 51149
51150 - 51300
51301 - 51499
51500 – 51699 and BV 48-53 (listes)
51700 - 51899
51900 - 52049
52050 - 52199
52200 - 52349
52350 - 52499
52500 - 52649
52650 – 52799
52800 - 52949
52950 - 53099
53100 - 53249
53250 - 53399
53400 - 53543

Cheers all and hope it helps some of you.

Edit: Sorry, I should have also said find a soldier in the lists. Any man seems to do the trick. Click on his card and the red bar to find more information then select the 'R' from the drop down and you can go from there with a number within the above list.

Thanks for posting these numbers they helped me with one find. I have trawled through them also to try and find the details of George Blenco 1/5th Yorkshire Regiment who died in captivity 19th Sept. 1918 after being captured 27th May at the Aisne but no luck or missed it!

I was wondering if anybody can help me two things on his card I cant seem to figure out

1. A82081 what is this number

2. P.O.5 DON is this part of home address for mail ??

Check out the following link for help in understanding the cards

http://grandeguerre.icrc.org/Content/help/3step-E15-01.pdf

From the information A.820181 is the reference to an enquiry letter from a relative, in this case Mrs G Blenco which was subsequently destroyed.

The card was generated as a result of this enquiry

Still looking for explanation on second reference

Cheers hope this helps
