bmac Posted 30 March , 2012 Share Posted 30 March , 2012 Good link. There's another to Poilu's Trench Magazines. There's a load of stuff on-line here too: http://gallica.bnf.fr/?lang=EN Lots of military revues, several books, a load of great photographs. The French really are very well organised in making this sort of material available on-line (and free!!!). Oh, and they usually, as with the Gallica page, have a welcome screen (at least) in English. depaor01 Posted 31 March , 2012 Share Posted 31 March , 2012 Outstanding! Fantastic aerial photos of Dublin post-rebellion. But! on Gallica, instructions say to "Save As" if you want the picture, but throws a "File Not Found" error. Grrrrr!

bmac Posted 31 March , 2012 Share Posted 31 March , 2012 Interesting photo caption for this one: http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b6932482j.r=les+tranch%C3%A9es+photograph.langEN 'English canon abandoned at Maubeuge'. Naughty English! Actually, I believe, a Canon de 120 L Modele 1878 de Bange. And French.
