I am searching for information regarding the location and activity of the 8th Battalion (Service) South Staffordshire Regiment on the 9th and 10th of July 1916. I am researching the circumstances surrounding the death of my great uncle on the 10th. I would be grateful for any war diary information or maps regarding this time period. Regards, Gordon.

Thank you for the information, it is far more than I had hoped for !!!

Doug, I think you helped me in the past, with photographs of the Thiepval Memorial which you took on a visit showing my great uncles name.

I really appreciate your help.

Hi Paul

The Battalion were in Camp on the 17th February, and no reference to anyone being killed, I have attached the 16th February as it refers to a number of men being killed.
