Hi

It appears that both my great uncles (from seperate sides of the family) served with the 1st Btn RWF at Festubert in May 1915. Both were unfortunately Killed about the same time during the battle and both have memorials at Le Touret. Their names where:

Richard Owen Private 6026 in the 3rd (SR) RWF, On 23 November 1914 posted as a reinforcement to the 1st RWF in France

Joseph Davies 11069

Does anybody have any further information about the Battalion during this time including names of officers and other ranks, battle reports etc.

Regards

Will Davies

several of us have the War Diary. Give us a specific date and someone with scan etc.

I want to narrow the search dates to March to May 1915.

No problem with sending you a page or two but given that both served with the 1st from entering France to mid May 1915 then you may want to have a look at the Diary for their entire time there for only £3.50.
