The best WW1 German group out there is Infantry Regiment 28 Van Goeben - the details, from the Great War Society website which it is a part of, are; Inf.Reg.Nr.28 'Von Goeben' Imperial German unit currently covering the whole of the UK. The one I know best replicates Sturm=Bataillon Nr. 5 (Rohr) , which my father fought in. They were rather astonished when I popped up in their line of sight, so to speak.
