high wood Posted 30 April , 2009 Share Posted 30 April , 2009 I am in the process of reframing this needlework picture made by a wounded British soldier. I am just about to put it back into it's frame so I thought that I had better take a picture before it goes back behind glass for another 90 years. The wool has faded a little but the colours are still vibrant.
Just Barbara Posted 30 April , 2009 Share Posted 30 April , 2009 That is lovely, it must be a picture of him sewing the picture... Barbara...

DavoT Posted 1 May , 2009 Share Posted 1 May , 2009 Excellent. Thanks for sharing it with us. Must have taken a bit of time to do and for him, made the time pass a little quicker too. David
ShirlD Posted 1 May , 2009 Share Posted 1 May , 2009 Thank you, I have never seen anything quite like this. Cheers Shirley
Gunner Bailey Posted 1 May , 2009 Share Posted 1 May , 2009 Supurb find. A museum quality piece I would say. We concentrate a lot on the 'hardware' of WW1 but a piece like this gives real insight into the casualties and their treatment. Many thanks for sharing this with us all.
