daggers Posted 17 July , 2008 Share Posted 17 July , 2008 I'll open up with a shot at serjeant, RAMC. Someone with access to medal cards may be able to confirm this. Is Alec Bradley his name? Daggers

4thGordons Posted 17 July , 2008 Share Posted 17 July , 2008 If I am correct then this may be his MIC A Bradley Sgt RAMC. Looks to be the most obvious candidate but no guarantees! Experts along shortly to correct me no doubt!

Experts along shortly to correct me no doubt! This is a DCM MIC - can't find another one. HOWEVER, Looks like Sgt 9657 A.Bradley was an ALEC please see below (from "pension" records) Chris

MelPack Posted 17 July , 2008 Share Posted 17 July , 2008 Here is the citation for the DCM: 9657 Sjt. A. Bradley, R.A.M.C. (Curragh Camp). For conspicuous good work and devotion to duty. This N.C.O. led his stretcher parties and safely brought in all1 wounded under very heavy fire in action. Gazette Issue 30932 published on the 1 October 1918. Page 6 of 32 http://www.gazettes-online.co.uk/ViewPDF.a...age&all=Sjt. A. Bradley RAMC&exact=&atleast=&similar= I am pleased to see that he was granted the princely sum of 6d a day extra for his DCM on his interim disability pension - what price bravery? Harrison118 Posted 21 September , 2013 Share Posted 21 September , 2013 Thanks to those that posted these links to my g grandads medal. Unfotunatly I read it a year to late. Although devasting to have missed out on the opportunity of getting this medal back I am glad to know that it is out there somewhere and being looked after as I wrongly believed that it was a total loss. Hopefully one day it will resurface and I will have the opportunity of buying it. i have tried to contact the seller but with no joy.
Harrison118 Posted 25 September , 2013 Share Posted 25 September , 2013 I have now located the medal and made contact with its buyer. The buyer collects RAMC medals and gallantry awards. I am on a sticky wicket trying to find a replacement DCM for her but at least a swap is in the offering. Does anyone know of where i could get my hands on one. I am sceptical about Ebay.... Grovetown Posted 25 September , 2013 Share Posted 25 September , 2013 Try either: http://www.dnw.co.uk/ or https://www.dixonsmedals.co.uk/. Both reliable in my experience. Cheers, GT.
