dutchbarge Posted 14 January , 2010 Share Posted 14 January , 2010 The interesting thread on the 20th (Light) Division battle flashes brought to mind yet another question. As each of the Division's Brigades had a battle flash (square, circle, or triangle) and each Regiment in each Brigade had a series of dashes below the Brigade battle flash to denote Regiment, can I assume correctly that the Brigade Headquarters staff wore the Brigade battle flash without dashes? Mike_H Posted 14 January , 2010 Share Posted 14 January , 2010 Bill As far as I am aware that was the case. Re the date the scheme of flashes was adopted - I have found nothing to suggest that it was in use before very late 1917 or early 1918.
