My Grand father served with the 12 th battalion KRRC and I have just noticed on his medical records that it says KRRC R E.

Does the R.E. means Royal Engineers?

Men in the Transport section were renumbered with the WR/ prefix in 1918. It stands for Waterways and Railways (which included docks, barges, railway operating, railway construction and road construction)
