Self-indulgence?

Jim Clay

A Forum Pal has suggested that we bloggers (or some of us - the Pal would name no names, "cos they know who they are" ) are self indulgent wasters of Chris's critical bandwidth - "perhaps???"

The bandwidth suggestion is hokum, bunkum - what's the word? - but are we bloggers self indulgent? Should we find something more useful to do with our time? Should we, because one Pal seems not to like what we do, desist?

Answers on a used £50 note to the usual address, please.

Well, I'm just a-sittin' here, watchin' them pesky tumbleweeds tumble by - on their way to who knows where...

Jim, where would we be with out our personilised serial to read? ( When Will gets time to write it!)

We would be poorer in not having met Satish and hearing about life in India, not to mention missing Des's great story, as well as the other posts that let us learn about our fellow members.

So, a waste a space. I don't think so.

Sorry, don't have any pound notes here.

Cheers

Couldn't have put it better myself, Kim. Should we send in Beeby?

Thank you, Kim and thank you, Marina :). Yep, Beeby's yer man to sort 'em out.

Seriously, I doubt whether the knocker of blogs has ever even peeked in here (but I could be wrong...) and they would surely hate the Blackadder and O'Brien sagas - they're fiction ... about War ... by people who weren't there! :o

Jim

PS - Scottish £50s welcome, also $Aus 100s ... :D

I do believe it is, Kate. Not to be confused, of course, with the late Major Dennis Bloodknock...

Do we have any clues concerning the identity of the Phantom Blog-Knocker?

This is a dire sitution, which may have untold effects within the very highest levels of our democracy.

Think of the much put-upon foot soldier in so many conflicts through the ages. I can say no more - and if you think you know, you may well believe that; I couldn't possibly comment...

You pose the question "are bloggers self-indulgent".

IMO, inherently yes. It's the internet version of vanity publishing.

Is there anything inherently wrong with self-indulgence? No, there isnt. But, I'll just stick with my lemon cheesecake. Oh, and pistachio ice-cream

Ta for that, John. So, self-indulgent - yes; but obsessively so, I think the tumbling tumbleweeds a-tumbling by would suggest not

And, yep, self-indulgence, so long as it doesn't frighten the horses, is not inherently a 'bad' thing.

Now what can I put in my nest blog? Just hang about for a mo - I'll be right with you ...

Jim :)
