A bit about me

Graham Smith

Goodness, how rude, I ain't even introduced meself.

Graham Smith is tall and built like an adonis sorry got carried away there.

OK OK I'm 51 years young, I was born in Wolverhampton and lived there all my life until marriage, when I moved a short way down the road to the Walsall border.

I am employed by West Mudlands Police farce and have been a front line plod for the past 27 years.

I spend my days sat either inside a nice warm Ford Mondeo ST220 or aboard a Honda Pan European motorcycle. B)

Should you ever get pulled in my area... just mention my name and all summons's will be squashed (just having a little chuckle there)

Like many plod with my amount of 'coal face'service I can't wait to reach my 30 years to get the hell outta the job. Plod politics is killing the whole service off. We are slaves to KPI's (Key peformance indicators) and Home Office objectives.

There are simply not enough Indians and too many chiefs

Mr Blair has tried to paper over the cracks with PCSO's etc, but its not enough.

Schools also are being suffocated by Performance Indicators, which require lots of box ticking which when completed prove nothing except that boxes have been ticked. It's hard to find time to teach these days, it really is.

Strange, but it's teaching that my daughter wants to do.

She is in final year of English degree at Uni, then hopes to secure a place on a PGCE course.

The shocking thing is she wants to teach kids from years 7- 11 onwards

(Thats sec school kids in old money)

Good grief

Marina,

Yes, she tried doing part of her work experience in a primary/infant school and at the end of the week she didn't know what day it was
