Along with images of British subject matter, this film features aspects of Canada's war contribution. The first Canadian-built ship to load cargo for Australia, the SS Canadian Raider, is pictured being loaded with timber in Vancouver. British Newsreels on the war often included aspects of Canada's contribution. Thus, Canadian audiences were able to see their Canadian troops in action through the distribution of British newsreels. Other footage of Canada's war effort was also produced by the Canadian War Records Office.
