Chris_Baker Posted 13 June , 2008 Share Posted 13 June , 2008 Does any pal have ready access to the war diary or other material on 119th Brigade RFA, 38th (Welsh) Division? I'd like to round off an article I am writing on one of its officers. I'm curious to know if he is mentioned anywhere. I'll be in a position to examine the war diary at Kew but not until mid next week and I have a deadline approaching.
rflory Posted 13 June , 2008 Share Posted 13 June , 2008 Chris: If you give me your officer's name I will check my RA officers' database to see if I have anything on him. Regards, Dick Flory
Bernard_Lewis Posted 14 June , 2008 Share Posted 14 June , 2008 The RFA is not my speciality. If he was mentioned in the Weslh Regiment history - as an aside maybe - I could have a look for that. But need the name, of course. Bernard
baorbrat Posted 14 June , 2008 Share Posted 14 June , 2008 Bernard. Could you see if a George Anderson is mentioned? Thank you Peter
Bernard_Lewis Posted 14 June , 2008 Share Posted 14 June , 2008 Peter - I'll look in the next few days (going out shortly and tied up tomorrow too). Which unit did he service with? I assume he was an officer? Are there any specific dates that might mention him (getting wounded/killed etc)? It's a big book but happy to look! baorbrat Posted 14 June , 2008 Share Posted 14 June , 2008 I think if he was mentioned it would be sometime arriving after April 1918. No idea of the Unit.
Bernard_Lewis Posted 25 June , 2008 Share Posted 25 June , 2008 Sorry Peter - had a scan through from April 1918 on but no mention that I can see. Its not an indexed book but the artillery is usually referred to as 'the artillery' with no names. Couldn't see him. Bernard
