Paul Nixon Posted 12 June , 2008 Posted 12 June , 2008 This is the medal card for Sub Conductor George A J Welch of the Indian Army Ordnance Corps. He was an old solider who had served in the Boer War with the Yorkshire Regiment, been present at The Delhi Durbar in 1911 and then served in India with the Indian Army Ordnance Corps. Can anyone suggest what the word is before "by Govt of India"? Thanks
dave ricketts Posted 12 June , 2008 Posted 12 June , 2008 Paul, Issd = Issued? Presumeably the medal Information came from India. Dave
Paul Nixon Posted 12 June , 2008 Author Posted 12 June , 2008 Ah, you got it Dave, thanks. I have his medal group and interestingly there is a 1914-15 Star in there as well - not that that's mentioned on this MIC however.
