mmm45 Posted 12 June , 2008 Posted 12 June , 2008 It should be in his Service Record if it survived ...Surname S not online yet on Ancestry . He had a 1914 Trio. 7040437 was his second number is a this post war service number?? One of the Royal Irish Fusilier experts maybe able to help out?

sotonmate Posted 12 June , 2008 Posted 12 June , 2008 Andrew This info will probably be on the original Medal Rolls,with a reason for forfeiture. These Rolls list all soldiers who were eligible for medals,and those who didn't get them for whatever reason are normally shown. To track down the Roll for your subject you need the letters and numbers against the medals on his Medal Index Card. A Kew look-up will relate thuis info to the Medal Roll in the WO329 series,and B--'- your Uncle. Sotonmate
