Hi All,

Can anyone supply any info on Skipper James Bullock regards seniority/vessels served on?

Thanks in advance,

Donny

Hi Donny,

His seniority is 10/2/15.

Appointed to New Spray 26/2/15, still in command December 1918.

Regards,

David.

Thanks David,

It looks like we both frequent all the best places

The entry for the "New Spray" was the one on his record that I was having difficulty making out, the next entry reads "Kingfisher from Attentive II or III 30/04/19" I think. If I'm reading my "Dittmar & Colledge" and "Toghill" correctly this vessel named Kingfisher was formerly the drifter "Abele", am I correct? Also Skipper Bullock seems to have earned quite a bit of prize money, any way of finding out what for?

Once again, many thanks,

Donny

Have you searched the forum for topics on prize money?

Donny,

Looking at "Dittmar & Colledge", I interpret it as you do. The hired drifter "Adele" was renamed "Kingfisher" in June 1918. There is a mention of her serving again in WW2 as "Adele" & this is confirmed in Warships of World War II by Lenton & Colledge. Requisitioned Nov. 1939 for Harbour Service & returned in 1946.

Regards,

David.

David,

Thanks for confirming that.

per ardua per mare per terram,

I had searched and found some of the threads but have gone back again and found a possibility on the U-boat losses site, I will also have a look at the London Gazette and see if I can turn anything else up. Thank You.

Donny
