Guest ayling46 Posted 9 June , 2008 Posted 9 June , 2008 Another beginner I am afraid - My Grandfather's records include two postings which I am unsure about. One seems to be Fne (Haldon) in 1919 - Is this HMS Haldon the paddlesteamer/minesweeper? and if so are there any pictures? I have seen the thread on HMS Sandhurst being a depot ship at Scapa Flow in 1916 - does this mean it was inactive or did it steam with the fleet or other duties - any help appreciated
jay dubaya Posted 9 June , 2008 Posted 9 June , 2008 Welcome to the forum ayling46, I'm sure that I have read somewhere that HMS Sandhurst was first used as a dummy ship and then later in the war as a fleet repair ship, cheers, Jon
