slasher Posted 5 June , 2008 Posted 5 June , 2008 Do any of the knowledgeable people on here know what Warbler was in relation to Vivid III. Its on a Great Uncles Navy record as "Vivid III (Warbler), 1460, Sto II, 25 March 18 - 25 August 18, ---------------- ll -------------- Sto I, 26 August 18 - 31 March 19" I know Vivid was a land based establishment but was Warbler a mess within it or something else? I've searched the net but can't find anything. Thanks in advance Slasher

slasher Posted 5 June , 2008 Author Posted 5 June , 2008 Charles Thanks for the prompt (extremely) and very helpful reply. Would there be a record/ log of the vessel, for the dates above, anywhere? Slasher
joseph Posted 5 June , 2008 Posted 5 June , 2008 Slasher, Not sure if there will be a log at National Archives have a search here; http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ HMS Vivid III was a devonport accounting base so he could have been most anywhere. Regards Charles
slasher Posted 5 June , 2008 Author Posted 5 June , 2008 Thanks again Charles I've searched using name, Port Reg and Admty No but nothing flags up. Looks like another mystery in the family. Thanks again for your help Slasher
per ardua per mare per terram Posted 8 June , 2008 Posted 8 June , 2008 She was probably part of the Auxilliary Patrol so you'll have to look for general details not the specific ship.
