stuartd Posted 8 June , 2008 Posted 8 June , 2008 I'll need to double check on this one but I think something called the War Office Press Bureau was set up and only accredited journalists were allowed to report back from the front. It also allowed for the censoring and control of reports coming back from the army. This then gave the government control over what was reported. The War Propaganda Bureau was also set up and whose motives are fairly self-explanatory: films, books, magazines etc which justified the British war effort.
