Hello looking for any information on Roland Bonner Sapper Royal Engns but dont no anyhing else about were or when he served in the army

Before you rely on others to help, have you followed the advice given on The Long, Long Trail? Click on the link top left of this page and then on Researching a soldier". If you have, you would probably have found at least a medal index card. His name is not too common so it should be straightforward enough.

i have looked but cant seem to find anything but i have Roland that is his first name on 1881 census it reads as follows

Roland Bonner Head 39 thame,oxford England Sapper Royal Engns

Phebe Bonner wife 39 castle cary Somerset England

George Bonner,son age 13 Chatham Kent scholar

William Bonner ,son age 11 cadbury Somerset England scholar

Frederick Bonner age 5(NBS)Bermuda

Louisa Bonner daur age 2 Chatham Kent

does this help any,thank you

If he was serving in 1881 it is not likely he was still in the army by 1914. You might find his record in document series WO97 at the National Archives. You will not find any military details online.

Chris just quick reply you were right i found him on 1891 census and he was,nt in the army then so would,nt find any information for him
