Wonder if anyone has come across this officer and can identify his unit.

SDCD gives 4th Yorkshires attd to MGC at the time of his death.

CWGC only gives MGC.

I can find no mention of him with the 4th Yorkshires in what references I have.

Would be grateful for any info to clear up who he served with.

Gazette London not the Evening ;) has him down as the 4th Batt Yorks late of the Kings Royal Rifle Corps. issue 28941. 16th Oct 1914.

Hope this helps.

The Cross of Sacrifice lists him as 4th Yourks attached Machine Gun Corps. Regards. Dick Flory

Thanks for your input.

What's throwing me is he was a Lt-Col and there is no mention of him in Green Howards in the Great War.

Think I need to dig deeper.
