The Irish Brigade in the German Army

I am looking for some information on the so called 'Irish Brigade' within the German Army. I am know that the Brigade only consisted of approx 60 Irish Prisoners of War and I dont think it was anything other than a propaganda ploy.

What became of those that joined up after the war ?

If you type Irish Brigade or German Irish Brigade into the search engine, you will find that this has been discussed a number of times.

Terry,

Thanks for the info , I have enjoyed the various threads

Are you aware of any other attemps to use nationalist movements, eg Scottish or Welsh or others

No evidence at all. This was used because of the situation in Ireland at the time of course. From all the documents I have read, Germany very quickly lost interest in the project.
