19th Battalion CEF Vimy Ridge Casualties?

Hi Does anyone have access to a copy of the 19th Bn history, or the casualty list for Vimy Ridge on the 9th of April 1917?

I am looking for a casualty whose first name was Charles. Sorry that is all the information that I have. Thanks.

Bill,

The 19th has no regimental history, and therefore no way of searching for casualties of this unit by name as a group.

HOWEVER......I do have a copy of the 'Canadian Book Of Remembrance' which lists all CEF casualties by year ONLY, No specific dates. So I undertook a fairly intensive search of 1917, scanning the entire section for all 19th Bn. names that included 'Charles', and cross checked my results with CWGC. I managed to find ONE name that matches your description!

Thanks David. The request came in relation to a Memorial stained glass window. A friend of mine was given a memorial stained glass window with a soldier in one panel and an angel in the other. The inscription clearly identified one 19th Battalion soldier, but only referred to the second as Charlie, his chum.

Little provenance on the window. The supposition is that it came from a wrecked church sometime in the 60's. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
