Old Tom Posted 21 May , 2008 Share Posted 21 May , 2008 Hello, After a few years during which I have read quite a lot about the Western Front I have finally met the Official History - thanks to the Hampshire County Library. I have just read the final chapter of what is, in effect, the history. It is titled retrospect. I found it to be fascinating. Those familiar with the Official Histroy may well agree. To those who are not, may I commend, in particular, the last chapter as a masterly summary. Old Tom
truthergw Posted 21 May , 2008 Share Posted 21 May , 2008 Hi Tom. I am just a little puzzled. The Official History has a lot more than 5 volumes. I own 4 myself covering 1915 and 1917 and there is a third for 1917, covering Cambrai, making 5 for these two years alone.
Neil Burns Posted 21 May , 2008 Share Posted 21 May , 2008 Tom, I think he's referring to Volume 5 for the year 1918. Take care, Neil
