Joe Walsh Posted 17 May , 2008 Share Posted 17 May , 2008 I was just looking through my old famaily stuff, and William Richard Till , CSM of a 2nd Labour Battalion, RE, is believed to of won a crox de guerre, or a french medal anyway. I have no idea where to check this out or how to. Any ideas? Joe
HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 17 May , 2008 Share Posted 17 May , 2008 Hi Joe; An award of a French or other allied decoration was usually promulgated in the London Gazette,I have searched quickly to see using "Till" & alternately both his numbers{RE & LC} but @ present to no avail,in an Advanced{ie WW1} Gazette search, this is by no means conclusive, but might need more less defined searching.
