I was just looking through my old famaily stuff, and William Richard Till , CSM of a 2nd Labour Battalion, RE, is believed to of won a crox de guerre, or a french medal anyway.

I have no idea where to check this out or how to. Any ideas?

Hi Joe;

An award of a French or other allied decoration was usually promulgated in the London Gazette,I have searched quickly to see using "Till" & alternately both his numbers{RE & LC} but @ present to no avail,in an Advanced{ie WW1} Gazette search,this is by no means conclusive,but might need more less defined searching.

well he was awarded an MM, which is in the Gazette but I never found it, someone else did. So Im not relyign on that too much.
