david crouch Posted 14 May , 2008 Share Posted 14 May , 2008 Dear All I have a question for the experts. I have read that the York and Lancaster Regiment was awarded the most battle honours of any english regiment during the great war. I have found this quote everal times on the net. However E.A James, British Regiments 1914-1918 contradicts this claim. Can anyone help and state whether this regiment did indeed have the most battle honours. Best regards Dave
nigelcave Posted 15 May , 2008 Share Posted 15 May , 2008 The impression I get from Cook is that the Middlesex got the most (93), followed by the Hampshires (91).

Dear Nigel Thanks very much for your kind reply it is much appreciated. I got the Y & L quote from the internet so I tending to think it is wrong. Thanks once again.
