Neil2 Posted 3 May , 2008 Share Posted 3 May , 2008 Hello all, I am trying to pinpoint the location of 56 Sanitary Squad in 1918. The man I am researching, Sergeant George Cook Smith (RAMC 60939), was previously with 109 Sanitary Section at No 2 (Eastern) Rest Camp at St Germain au Mont d'Or and joined 56 Sanitary Squad on June 2 1918. I know the composition of a squad (sgt and five privates) and wonder whether 56 Sanitary Squad is likely to have been a different unit altogether or simply part of 109 Section. Bit of a specialised topic perhaps - but wonder if anyone has any thoughts? regards, Neil2
