stripeyman Posted 29 April , 2008 Share Posted 29 April , 2008 The Calais Depot was situated to the south of Coulogne and astride the railway as seen in the Googlearth image. Would any pals have some exterior views of this complex ? I will be visiting the area in late May Thanks in advance Bob Grundy
Paul Reed Posted 30 April , 2008 Share Posted 30 April , 2008 What sort of Depot was it? Run by who? RE? ASC? If RE, I am wondering if there will be photos in one of the RE History volumes?
stripeyman Posted 30 April , 2008 Author Share Posted 30 April , 2008 Paul There is a contemporary map of the place in Peter Barton's Passchendaele page 133. It comprised of RE, RAOD, Workshops, POW camps, ASC, AOD and WAAC camps, Special Bde and a mass of railway 'Grids'... in all quite a big place.
