According to our records

Born at Mildenhall, Suffolk, January 30th 1893

Educated at King's School, Worcester

Enlisted Aug 9th 1914 in 20th London Regiment

Gazetted December 9th 1914 to 9th Royal Berks, six months later promoted to Lieutenant

Acted for some time as Instructor of Musketry at Bovington Camp. Then in Oct 1915 he went to France
