Kathie Posted 11 February , 2004 Share Posted 11 February , 2004 I am researching the Great War part of the War Memorial in Port Aflred, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Charles Dugmore, a farmers son, served with the @nd South African Infantry and was killed at Mersa Matruh, Egypt on 24 January 1916. I am looking for any references to him in diaries, letters home or books. Anything to make any of the twenty soldiers on my list intersting and alive. any help or suggestions appreciated.
