BMoorhouse Posted 10 February , 2004 Share Posted 10 February , 2004 I would be grateful if any experts on the King's could tell me whether they have any information on this officer. He served on the Western front and in the Balkans, as well as the Easter Rising I believe, but do not have any more specific information. Brendon. BMoorhouse Posted 26 February , 2004 Author Share Posted 26 February , 2004 Stephen and Ken, Thanks for the offers of help. I am afraid that I do not have any more information. I am trying to help a friend who only has the name and a rough idea where his relative served from family anecdotes. I was hoping that being an officer he might be easier to trace? I also know that the Kings' Liverpool Regt had a lot of Battalions. Any help would be appreciated. Brendon.
manxman Posted 26 February , 2004 Share Posted 26 February , 2004 Try the online PRO records WWW.catalogue.pro.gov.uk A quick search revealed 3 or 4 F Whalleys, One was recorded as Major F.J. Whalley (it doesn't show further details) File reference WO 339/12523 (though please check I recorded this correctly). This refers to an officer's personal file. You can orded a copy of this record through the site (min charge is £10)
