smudge Posted 8 February , 2004 Share Posted 8 February , 2004 While researching the history of 6th Battalion Loyal North Lanc's,came across a referance to a group called "The Budhoo Gangs",who robbed the dead and killed any wounded.Who were they?and did this happen to both sides. Any other info on 6th service battalion the Loyals -middle east? Thanks
Ron Posted 9 February , 2004 Share Posted 9 February , 2004 It's British army slang for Arab marauders who preyed on the wounded and dead of both armies, murdering and stripping them of their clothes. Ron
Chris_Baker Posted 9 February , 2004 Share Posted 9 February , 2004 There's a whole section on the Mesopotamian operations on The Long, Long Trail. Click on 'Battles of the Great War' then 'Mesopotamia'.
