Take a look at this current e-bay photograph:

The young lady appears to wearing an RNAS Warrant Officer's cap badge - was this just a joke photograph?

I believe the lady is wearing the initial issue pale blue RAF uniform. Another photograph showing the uniform, from the Cormack Brothers' Osprey Book "British Air Forces 1914-1918 (2)" is below. Both women appear to be wearing black ties, which indicates the WRAF, rather than the khaki ties used by the WAAC.

I agree with your conclusion, the cap badge is a much closer match to the WRAF one that appears in several places on the net.

I wouldn't like to meet yours on a dark night!!!

One is reminded of the assessment of femme military attire during the late Kosovo undertaking. A US Army officer opined that women in his service looked like girls dressed up as soldiers. The French Army filles resembled Catherine Deneuve dressed informally... ;)
