KAYJAY Posted 8 February , 2004 Share Posted 8 February , 2004 Hello all, Can anyone tell me where the 4th R.G.A. Mountian Battery went to after Gallipoli. I am aware that one Sgt was awarded the Serbian Gold Medal on L.G. 15/02/17 but not for where it was awarded. And if anyone has a Unit Roll for the first war I would be most gratefull. Regards Ken. Jock Bruce Posted 8 February , 2004 Share Posted 8 February , 2004 Ken, I'm currently away from home - when I get back next week I'll have a look in a book called the 'Sword of the North: Highland Memories of the Great War' which may have some bits about the R&C Bty. Robert Dunlop Posted 8 February , 2004 Share Posted 8 February , 2004 On 10th August 1916, they arrived in Salonika from Egypt. The battery fought in the area of Lake Dorjan, most notably in the attacks of September 1918 which pinned the Bulgarians while the allies brokethrough further left.
