Guest jbd Posted 6 February , 2004 Share Posted 6 February , 2004 305333 Sgt. Arthur Atkinson, 1/8 Royal Warwickshire Regt. was kia on 06/10/1918. At that time Roisel was occupied by British troops and work on the cemetery commenced in October 1918. It is likely that Sgt. Atkinson was brought in from a local burial elsewhere. Do the CWGC have records which would confirm this? Knowing how many Royal Warwks. enthusuausts there are, was there any actual fighting in the vicinity on that day? Terry Denham Posted 6 February , 2004 Share Posted 6 February , 2004 Barrie Contact them on casualtyenq@cwgc.org and ask if they have the original burial returns for this cemetery. If they still exist (most do), it may show if he was buried elsewhere first.
