Simon Jones Posted 18 March , 2008 Share Posted 18 March , 2008 I am trying to trace the movements of 139467 Sapper Thomas Dunn RE, who left Reading War Hospital September 1918 and went to Newcastle upon Tyne. Would he show up on an Absent Voters List? Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks Simon
ian turner Posted 18 March , 2008 Share Posted 18 March , 2008 Simon Have you looked for his service/pension record? If he was in hospital maybe he received a postwar pension? As to absent voters, in the absence of knowing just where he was and when discharged there would be no harm in checking? Ian
Simon Jones Posted 19 March , 2008 Author Share Posted 19 March , 2008 Ian Thanks - unfortunately no record in WO363 or 364. I assume the Newcastle upon Tyne Voters Lists are not on line -The Long. Long Trail says they are but the link is to St Helens! S

Simon Jones Posted 19 March , 2008 Author Share Posted 19 March , 2008 Melon Thanks I do! He actually has two. The one you posted has his first regiment incorrect as he was in the Buffs (East Kents) not the East Surreys before the RE. Simon
