connaughtranger Posted 25 March , 2008 Share Posted 25 March , 2008 Hi After their 'doings' of the 19th November, the 2 Manchesters were involved on the night of the 25/26th November in a combined bombing operation. Each Company in A2, A3 and A4 trench sections were went out to bomb the enemy's trenches. 2/Lt Evill, L/Cpl Keelan and 3 men went out from No.20 Fire Trench. They came across a post in No-man's Land which they bombed and returned safely despite attracting machine-gun fire. Another party from No. 26 Fire Trench (2/Lt Haigh-Wood, Cpl Herbert and 3 men) threw bombs into an enemy sap. Cpl Herbert was wounded but brought back to British lines. Casualties for November: 7 OR's killed, 2/Lt's Lewtas and Williamson and 14 OR's wounded
