love4history Posted 17 March , 2008 Share Posted 17 March , 2008 Hello Gentlemen I have a chap (Sjt J; Fountain) who gained a long service and good conduct medal (Edward VII-type) with the 3rd Volunteer Batallion Royal Fusiliers. Does anyone know the further lineage for this Bn given the fact that the "Volunteers" changed into "Territorials", and further into WWI? Thanks Cheers from Flanders
Steven Broomfield Posted 17 March , 2008 Share Posted 17 March , 2008 Almost certainly became a City of London (Royal Fusiliers) Battalion of The London Regiment, TF. Possibly even the 3rd Londons. If no-one beats me to it, I'll check this evening.
SteveE Posted 17 March , 2008 Share Posted 17 March , 2008 Allow me. Steven is spot on with his statement, this is from the London Gazette (LG#28121, March 20th 1908)
