nicknobbyclark Posted 13 March , 2008 Share Posted 13 March , 2008 I have the following details of my grandfather taken from his medal record: Frederick Hide Sergeant Regimental number 241756 2/6th Royal Warwickshire Regiment Given this information, I wondered if it was possible to find out which company in his battalion he was with? Alan Tucker Posted 15 March , 2008 Share Posted 15 March , 2008 He survived. If he had died company allocation is sometimes given in CWGC information on an individual.
nicknobbyclark Posted 16 March , 2008 Author Share Posted 16 March , 2008 Thanks Alan I don't suppose this is possible then? The only other thing I can add is that he was wounded and received the Silver War Badge. At the moment I'm in the process of ordering the 2/6th bat. War diaries and sifting through these in the hope he may be mentioned somewhere. My difficult task is to try and see when he was wounded and if possible what date discharged from active service.
