I have a George Paulin in the North Sea Engineers. Can anyone tell me who the North Sea Engineers were, and what they did? Were they part of the Royal Engineers, or the Navy, or something else?

Anything about George too?

Your man could have been in the Royal Engineers Corps of Submarine Miners and have been working the the North Sea Defences.

Thanks, that was useful. I had previously understood "miners" as being people who dug in the ground, and so was envisaging underwater tunnels or similar, not mines that blow up.

I think that they worked on the gas and oil pipelines in the North Sea! - Only Joking Ha Ha...
