howard nobbs Posted 25 February , 2008 Share Posted 25 February , 2008 I've casually mentioned this book in other Posts but have had a birthday and am now the proud owner. This book would be considered light weight reading by students of the subject. It basically gives a brief chronology of events leading up to the war and in the war. The book is heavy weight in structure and has 800 original photo's, some of them full page. "I like photo's" It's currently doing the Discount Bookshop rounds. Worth a look. It's by J.H.J. Andriessen. Rebo Publishers. I've only read a bit of it so far but I've looked at all the pictures!!! Regards Howard
DavoT Posted 2 March , 2008 Share Posted 2 March , 2008 I have this one too in my "reference library" and as you said, it does have fantastic photo's. Words tell it but there's nothing like some pictures to complete the story. Cheers, David
jainvince Posted 2 March , 2008 Share Posted 2 March , 2008 There appears to be two books of the same name. Mine is by Paul Whittle but has only 200 pictures. However, not bad for just under £4. Bernard
howard nobbs Posted 3 March , 2008 Author Share Posted 3 March , 2008 Sounds good Bernard. This is a big one, £30.00 but reduced to £12.99. Howard

john jerome mcmanus Posted 21 March , 2009 Share Posted 21 March , 2009 G'day Nobbsy and all that have responded to this post. Could someone inform me of the title(s) of the book(s) and the availibilty in Australia. Also do they contain pictures of members of the AIF?
