chaz Posted 24 February , 2008 Share Posted 24 February , 2008 Just as a warning. and as the Medal Forum is down.. Ernest Edward Smith death plaque in green marble has appeared at Frome car boot sale today. asking price £35 complete with copy of slip on back. Wife rang me asking if i wanted it, told her about it and she said it felt warm to touch not like my other plaques.

Jim Strawbridge Posted 24 February , 2008 Share Posted 24 February , 2008 Rendells, auctioneers of Ashburton, Devon. Sale of 22nd February, 2008. LOT 782. A World War 1 bronze Death Plaque awarded to Ernest Edward Smith, mounted in a green marble frame. As usual it had the slip pasted on the back. I pointed out that this was a copy but I don't think for a minute that it was either withdrawn or redescribed.
