Just as a warning. and as the Medal Forum is down..

Ernest Edward Smith death plaque in green marble has appeared at Frome car boot sale today. asking price £35 complete with copy of slip on back.

Wife rang me asking if i wanted it, told her about it and she said it felt warm to touch not like my other plaques.

Rendells, auctioneers of Ashburton, Devon. Sale of 22nd February, 2008.

LOT 782. A World War 1 bronze Death Plaque awarded to Ernest Edward Smith, mounted in a green marble frame.

As usual it had the slip pasted on the back. I pointed out that this was a copy but I don't think for a minute that it was either withdrawn or redescribed.
