David W Posted 20 February , 2008 Posted 20 February , 2008 It seems rather sad that it is easier to trace details of a individual who diedin the Great War than someone who survived. I find myself in this position trying to help a friends grandfather who survived the war but on whom we can find no other information than his regiment. It would be much appreciated if someone could advise a research route under these circumstances Many thanks
jnorthall Posted 20 February , 2008 Posted 20 February , 2008 Post whatever information you have and I'm sure someone will turn some info up for you.
grantowi Posted 20 February , 2008 Posted 20 February , 2008 David, I would post as much info as you have on here and then go from there Grant SNAP !
David W Posted 21 February , 2008 Author Posted 21 February , 2008 Some response has already been given but the individual is Pte Harry MANWARING - 42297 - of the East Yorks Regt. Two previous respondants have advised there is nothing on Ancestry Pension Records and that it would appear from his number he may have been drafted in either late April/early May 1918. Any further information would be much appreciated
