Remembered Today:

C/Sgt C Turney MGC

I purchased this postcard at a recent antique fair and with it came the attached letter regarding the awarding of Meritorious Service Medal. (Quite a nice piece for a matter of a few bob).

Has anyone any information regarding this person? And do any citations exist for MSM's?

(Picture first then letter to follow).

Paul.

Paul,

3rd Supplement to London Gazette dated Friday 14th June 1918

"His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Meritorious Service Medal to the undermentioned Warrant Officers, Non-commissioned Officers and Men, in recognition of valuable services rendered with the Forces in France during the present war"

There is a very long list and on page 7172

K/706 Col. Sjt C Turney, R. Fus, MGC (Hounslow)

Hope this helps

Steve
