MAYBE OF INTEREST TO A QUERY FROM 2004(FOUND BY ACCIDENT ON GOOGLE) DR RT MCGEAGH WAS MY GG GRANDFATHER.HE WAS SENT FROM ENGLAND TO BE AT THE CAMP .HE WAS MEDICAL OFFICER FOR 3 YEARS. OTHER INFO IF OF INTEREST.I JOINED TODAY TO TRY AND REPLY AND HAVE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME DISCOVERING THINGS FOR MYSELF! :huh: IT'S BRILLIANT

I think you will find that the Anglo-German family history society has published stuff on this and other Isle of Man camps.

Knockaloe is an Anglicised Irish word ( Cnoc a'luaidhe) and means the Hill of lead.

Thankyou to the gentlemen who posted a reply ,I am a novice as this site goes.Any other information on the camp or places I may look would be welcomed :lol:

Just found this post - I am republishing Hedge of Thorns about Knockaloe and I am looking for a new photo or postcard to use on the cover - I was wondering if anyone had such a thing?
