1st east yorks Posted 14 February , 2008 Posted 14 February , 2008 Hello, Reading through issue 81 of Stand To i noticed Sergeant Edward Kiernan of the Royal Irish Regiment. His surname is the same as my wifes maiden name and her family originate from Ireland, its a long shot but there could be some connection. Can anyone help with information? Thanks Anthony.
CSMMo Posted 14 February , 2008 Posted 14 February , 2008 Anthony, I have a Gunner Edward Kiernan of the Bute Mountain Battery, RGA. He was transferred into the Argyll Mountain Battery and fought at Gallipoli where he was wounded in the neck and shoulder. He was a naive of County Meath who lived in Kingarth, Isle of Bute, Scotland at the start of the war. There's a long shot for you! Mike Morrison
